It feels appropriate that the band who gave the world the “Sweater Song” will headline the 2019 NHL Winter Classic at Notre Dame Stadium.
On Wednesday, the league announced that rock band Weezer will perform at the annual game, which will feature the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins:
The Blackhawks will take their second turn as Winter Classic hosts on Jan. 1 when they play the Bruins in South Bend. Puck drop is scheduled for noon, and the game will air on NBC.
In previous years, acts such as Nelly, Def Leppard, and the Goo Goo Dolls have performed at the league's signature events over the years. Other acts will be announced at a later date.
