Over 1.7 million spectators are set to cheer on marathon runners on Oct. 8, and the Bank of America Chicago Marathon is making it easy to find a good spot thanks to official cheer zones located near main race points.
Official marathon cheer zones are located at miles 12 and 26. Each cheer zone will provide cheer items sponsored by Bank of America.
The Mile 13 Cheer Zone is located on Monroe and Jefferson streets, just two blocks away from Union Station.
The Mile 26 Cheer Zone is located between Michigan Avenue and Roosevelt Road, two blocks away from the CTA Red Line Roosevelt stop. This cheer zone is closest to the finish line.
The Merrill Lynch Cheer Zone is located at Mile 16.5 at Halsted Street and Jackson Boulevard. Blue cheering bells will be provided along with DJ entertainment at this zone.
The U.S. Trust Cheer Zone can be found at the halfway point of the marathon on Jefferson Street between Monroe and Adams streets.
