Eight people were displaced from their suburban townhomes after an overnight fire early Friday, officials said.
The fire broke out at around 2 a.m. at the apartment complex located on Coniston Court near Windermere Road in Winfield, according to the Winfield fire chief.
Firefighters worked quickly as flames burst through the roof, some shooting 30 feet into the air.
Multiple fire companies responded as the townhomes are very close to one another and there was concern that it could spread quickly.
The Fire Chief says the quick actions of his crews helped keep this fire under control.
No injuries were reported to firefighters or residents, eight of which were displaced.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation, though officials said it did not appear to be suspicious.
