Woman Hospitalized After Cops Pull Her From Car In Aurora Pond

Divers did not locate any additional victims.

A woman suffered possible life-threatening injuries Friday afternoon after driving her vehicle into a pond, Aurora police said on their Facebook page

Officers responded to a retention pond at Bilter Road and DuPage Parkway at 1:36 p.m. Friday, police said.

Police and Aurora Fire Department personnel pulled the woman out of the car with assistance from bystanders and transported her to a hospital with possible life-threatening injuries, authorities said in a 2:38 p.m. update.

The car was submerged in about eight feet of water, police said. Police have not yet identified the make and model of the vehicle.

The woman was driving south on DuPage Parkway when she lost control of her car "for an unknown reason" and drove into the pond, police said preliminary investigations show.

After a search of the pond, divers did not locate any additional victims.
