2 Teens Arrested After Labrador Puppy Shot With 18 BBs

Police in Rock Hill, South Carolina, say they have arrested two teenagers who they say shot a 6-week old Labrador mix 18 times with a BB gun and threw a knife at it.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports Capt. Mark Bollinger of the Rock Hill Police Department said the suspects, ages 14 and 17, were arrested Tuesday and charged with cruelty to animals.

Bollinger said the older teen is in jail without bond, while the 14-year-old has been released to a parent.

Initial reports said police responded to an apartment complex, about 27 miles south of Charlotte, late Sunday afternoon after a utility worker reported a group of as many as 20 juveniles were playing with a black puppy. The officer found the dog bleeding.

Workers at a local animal hospital named the puppy Brody.
