An attorney for a Chicago woman convicted in Indonesia of killing her mother says allegations the woman is selling her baby are false.
Heather Mack and her boyfriend Tommy Schaefer were convicted in April of killing Sheila von Wiese-Mack last August while vacationing in Bali.
Schaefer was sentenced to 18 years in prison and Mack to 10 years. Mack gave birth to the couple's daughter in March.
The Chicago Tribune reports Schaefer's mother, Kia Walker, on Friday told a Cook County judge presiding over a trust fund case that she fears the baby is being sold for $150,000.
Mack attorney Michael Elkin tells The Associated Press that's false and "nothing more than a smearing campaign." Elkin said earlier this week Mack may have a local family care for her.
