John Mayer is Better at Loving Himself Than Loving Others

In the February/March issue of Rolling Stone John Mayer talks about self-love and gripes that, as of late, it's the only kind of love in his life. The singer also proves that there's really nothing he keeps to himself.

“I have masturbated myself out of serious problems in my life," Mayer told Rolling Stone. "The phone doesn't pick up because I'm masturbating. And I have excused myself at the oddest times so as to not make mistakes…It's like a hot whirlpool for my brain…”

Far from being embarassed about his frequent habit, Mayer thinks others, especially Tiger Woods, could learn from him. He thinks Woods could have avoided his troubles if, rather than playing the field, he'd been playing with himself.

And for those of you who think Mayer has it all - he doesn’t. True, the singer landed a 10-year record deal and boasts a $20 million vintage watch collection, but there are no women in the singer's life. And it's no wonder. He talks about finding his soul mate the same way most people would discuss buying a house. “I’ll be happy when I close out this life-partner thing,” he said, “Think of how much mental capacity I’m using to meet the right person…”

But for Mayer, the right person is still Jennifer Aniston, who he isn’t over. He told Rolling Stone, “I’ve never really gotten over it. It was one of the worst times of my life.”
