Report: Shania Twain Heading To ‘American Idol'

Shania Twain is the latest name being tipped to temporarily fill the "American Idol" seat left vacant by Paula Abdul.

Rumors have surfaced that the mega-selling pop-country crossover star is set to "Come on Over" to the judging panel, joining Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi at an upcoming "Idol" audition.

Contestants in Chicago just might get to hear "That Don't Impress Me Much," coming from the Canadian singer when they show the judges what they've got on August 30 and 31, according to People.

A rep for "Idol" had no comment on the report, while a rep for the Canadian singer was not immediately available for comment when contacted by Access Hollywood.

And while it appears as if Shania is the latest female gearing up for a seat on the panel, Jessica Simpson is not.

The blonde country singer's dad shot down a report in the New York Post that he is working to get his daughter Paula's vacant position.

"So, I am in thailand… But, of course, the post says I am in town trying to get [Jessica] to be the replacement for paula abdul…. Do the lies ever stop????"
