Teen Accused of Stealing School Bus For Third Time: Report

Police report said he went to visit his mom

A Massachusetts teen has reportedly pleaded not guilty after being accused of stealing a school bus for the third time.

Brandon Bolte, 17, allegedly climbed into the open window of a bus in North Adams where the keys were left in the ignition, according to a police report.

The North Adams Transcript reported that police pulled the bus over after getting a call from Bolte’s grandmother.

The teen later told police he had driven the bus to visit his biological mom about 20 miles away, according to the Transcript.

Adams Police Officer Thomas Cook wrote in a police report that he did not get the sense Bolte “understood what he did was wrong,” and it was his “third time stealing a school bus in Berkshire County.”

Bolte pleaded not guilty to charges of larceny of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, the Transcript reported.
