Val Kilmer took to Facebook Tuesday evening to shoot down a rumor started by friend and former co-star Michael Douglas that he was suffering from cancer.
"I love Michael Douglas but he is misinformed. The last time I spoke to him was almost two years ago, when I asked him for a referral for a specialist to get a diagnosis for a lump in my throat, which prevented me from continuing a tour of my play CITIZEN TWAIN," Kilmer wrote.
Kilmer, who starred in "Batman Forever," "Tombstone" and "Heat," said he consulted with a medical team at UCLA and has "no cancer whatsoever," although he still has a swollen tongue and is "rehabbing steadily."

It was unclear what he may have suffered from.
The rumor first started circulating Sunday when Douglas, who recovered from stage 4 oral cancer in 2013, spoke at a Q&A in London where he talked about Kilmer battling oral cancer. "Things don’t look too good for him. My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately."
The two men starred in the 1996 film "The Ghost and the Darkness."

"I hope this puts to rest any further concerns about my health by publications that have no respect for the truth," Kilmer wrote. "Whatever led Michael Douglas to speculate about my health, he's a loving and devoted friend to a privileged group of talent people around the world, and I'm sure he meant no harm."
Kilmer invited concerned fans to come check him out in person if they live in the Westwood, California, area where he'll be performing later this month.
"Come see me live and happy and in person in Westwood next week if you think I'm fibbing!! I've done 3 Q and A's so far and am having the best time. The film is called CINEMA TWAIN and is a recording of my play," Kilmer wrote.
