Just moments after the Chicago Board of Elections voted to place Rahm Emanuel on the mayoral ballot, lead objector Burt Odelson laid the foundation for the next step.
Odelson, who argued against Emanuel's residency, said he will file suit today at the Cook County Circuit Court to have Emanuel removed.
He will ask that the case be expedited so the challenge can be heard prior to the election less than three months away.
Political analysts have suggested the case will end up in the Illinois Supreme Court before the elections.
