Of the more than 3,000 junior golfers who played in this summer's Ryder Cup Youth Skills Challenge, 32 remain to compete in the Sept. 22 finals.
Taking place at Medinah Country Club, where the main event happens Sept. 25-30, the free competition showcases the driving, chipping and putting skills of golfers ages 6 to 17.
The challenge began with 57 local qualifying competitions held in May, June and July across the state and 496 golfers advancing to four regional sites, where the 32 finalists were determined.
The finals begin at 2 p.m. at Course No. 3 beginning with ages 6-8 and 9-11.
Awards will be presented on the twelfth hole.
