The Chicago White Sox needed a big pitching performance out of Reynaldo López, and they certainly got it as he tossed a one-hit gem against the Cleveland Indians.
Lopez gave up one hit and one earned run in the complete game victory, and struck out 11 batters while walking three with 109 pitches thrown in the game.
Welington Castillo had a sterling day at the office, hitting a pair of doubles and driving in three runs, and Yolmer Sánchez and Adam Engel each drove in a pair of RBI's for the victorious White Sox.
After a tough loss Wednesday, the White Sox came out firing on Thursday, with Castillo blasting a two-run home run to left field to give the team a 2-0 lead.
Kevin Plawecki hit an RBI double in the second inning, but that was the only resistance the Indians were able to put up. López didn't give up a hit the rest of the way, keeping the Indians off the scoreboard as they try to make up a large divisional deficit against the Twins.
The Sox added runs in the fourth, thanks to a Sánchez RBI single, and in the sixth, when the infielder drew a bases loaded walk and Engel drilled a two-run single to center field.
Castillo added one more RBI in the ninth with an RBI groundout, and the White Sox cruised to an easy victory.
