Anthony Rizzo Makes Yankees History With Latest Home Run

Rizzo pulls off Yankees first with latest home run originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

The Yankees have an illustrious history that dates back more than a century.

But for all the legends to don the navy blue pinstripes, the former Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo accomplished a franchise first on Wednesday.

Rizzo, with a solo home run against the Orioles, became the first Yankees player ever to register an RBI in each of his first six games with the team.

Rizzo is off to a strong start in New York since the Cubs traded him last week. He's hit three home runs in six games and entered Wednesday 7-for-16 in five games since the trade.

Rizzo's hot streak has corresponded with a strong stretch for the Yankees. They were on their way to a win late in Wednesday's game, which would make them 5-1 since acquiring the 2016 World Series champ.
