Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement on Thursday, ending a 99-day lockout. After initially stating that Opening Day would be postponed until April 14, the first pitch will now be thrown on April 7 as the league embarks on a 162-game season.
A new playoff format will take effect in 2022, with 12 teams making the postseason instead of 10. That gives more teams a shot at winning the World Series and hoisting the Commissioner’s Trophy. Still, some teams have greater odds of winning it all.
With the season officially on, here’s a look at how oddsmakers view each team’s chances of winning the 2022 Fall Classic.
