Major League Baseball teams are practicing the insertion of crowd noise during intrasquad games in preparation for a season where fans are unlikely to be in attendance. The Brewers decided to have some fun doing so, at the expense of star outfielder Christian Yelich.
During Tuesday's scrimmage, the Brewers played booing noises over their loudspeakers as Yelich stepped into the batter's box. The 28-year-old was playing for the visiting team in Milwaukee's Blue-Gold intrasquad World Series.
Yelich took the boos in stride, joking that he didn't feel like he was playing at Miller Park.
"Am I at Wrigley or what?" a smiling Yelich said while mic'd up on Milwaukee's TV broadcast.

With the 'boos' piping through the speakers, this was one of the many great mic'd up moments from Christian Yelich last night. Nice catch by @SophiaMinnaert. pic.twitter.com/MDW3IkJwzm
Yelich won't experience many boos at Wrigley Field this season, though fans who watch games from the ballpark's surrounding rooftops will likely do their best.
