Williams gives jersey number to recently-acquired Vučević originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
To proud, Patrick Williams jersey owners: We've got good news and bad news.
The good: Your threads are now vintage.
The bad: You're going to need new ones. The Bulls rookie has passed his No. 9 off to Nikola Vučević, acquired ahead of Thursday's trade deadline in a blockbuster deal with the Orlando Magic.
Per the team, Williams will switch his number to 44, making him the 12th player in Bulls history to don those digits.
The No. 9 has been worn 11 times in Bulls history before Vučević -- most famously by Luol Deng and Ron Harper, most recently by Williams. Vučević worse No. 9 for all eight-and-a-half of his seasons in Orlando, and No. 8 for his rookie year with the Philadelphia 76ers.
The other Bulls deadline acquisitions shake out as follows:
- Daniel Theis: No. 27
- Javonte Green: No. 11
- Troy Brown Jr.: No. 7
- Al-Farouq Aminu: No. 5

Aminu came over from the Magic as part of the Vučević trade. Theis, Green and Brown were part of a three-team transaction with the Celtics and Wizards that saw Daniel Gafford and Chandler Hutchison move to Washington and Luke Kornet to Boston.
