El Mago is out in full force in Tuesday's Cubs-Reds game.
Cubs shortstop Javier Báez flashed his magic on the bases and defense in the same inning. Báez hit a two-out double in the top of the fifth, scoring one batter later with a perfect slide following a Kyle Schwarber single.
Báez followed that up with a slick defensive play in the bottom of the fifth, sliding to his right into the shortstop hole on a Curt Casali grounder. He quickly got to his feet, gunning a strike to first base to end the inning.
