Cubs Outfielder Ian Happ Is Very Thankful for Receiving an NL MVP Vote

Ian Happ thanks 'best writer in the game' for his MVP vote originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

It's the season of giving thanks, and that's exactly what Cubs center fielder Ian Happ did Thursday after the 2020 National League MVP results came out.

Happ, who was one of the Cubs' most consistent hitters during a down season for the offense, received one 10th-place MVP vote. Soon after, he took to Twitter to offer his gratitude to "the best writer in the game" for voting for him.

That writer is MLB.com's Marlins beat writer Joe Frisaro, who offered his appreciation to Happ in the tweet's replies.

Could this be the start of a Happ-Frisaro friendship?

If you missed it, Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman was named the NL MVP winner.
