Cubs sign all pre-arb guys, including Hoerner, Madrigal originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
The Cubs announced Wednesday they've agreed to contract terms with all of their players with 0-3 years of service time.
It puts everyone on the roster under contract for 2022 outside of catcher Willson Contreras. He and the club failed to come to terms before Tuesday's arbitration deadline, meaning the next step would be an arbitration hearing to determine his 2022 salary figure.
They avoided arbitration with outfielder Ian Happ Tuesday, settling on a $6.85 million, one-year contract for 2022.
Among the 0-3 players, the Cubs agreed to terms with Codi Heuer ($734,000), Rowan Wick ($724,000), Nico Hoerner ($720,000), Nick Madrigal ($716,500) and Adbert Alzolay ($718,250).
In all, the Cubs agreed to terms with 28 players on the 40-man roster with 0-3 years of service time, a group that also includes Patrick Wisdom, Frank Schwindel and Justin Steele, among others.
