James Harden, Nets Trade Has Bears' Allen Robinson Switching NBA 2K21 Teams

Predicting Allen Robinson's next team via his NBA2k tweets originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

You know that guy who’s a pain to play against in 2k because he always picks the super stacked team? Last year he was ride-or-die with the Lakers, before that he only played with Kawhi, and from 2015-2018 he was a card-carrying member of “Dub Nation.”

Well it turns out Allen Robinson is totally “that guy.”

That’s the tweet Robinson sent out moments after news broke of James Harden’s trade to the Nets. While we don’t know who Robinson mained before the big trade, given the tweet I’d wager it wasn’t his hometown Pistons since, well, they’re not very good (outside of DRose, of course).

The tweet also begs the question, will this ethos carry over to how Robinson approaches this offseason? If he and the Bears don’t come to terms on a new contract, and if the Bears place the franchise tag on Robinson, would he demand a trade to a team loaded with superstars so he can give himself the best opportunity to win a ring like players often do in the NBA?

I realize that’s a lot of “if’s,” but bear with me, this is a speculation post based on an NBA2k tweet.

If all of that did come to pass, and if Robinson made his business decisions like he made his 2k decisions where might he want to go?

You may not want to hear this, but the Green Bay Packers may be the best fit. Aaron Rodgers is still clearly the best quarterback in the league, and adding Robinson alongside Davante Adams would give the Pack the best wideout duo in the league.

But that hurts to think about, so let’s move on.

How about the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes? Kansas City seems to add new weapons for their explosive offense every year. Robinson would also be a great middle-of-the-field complement to burners Tyreek Hill and Mecole Hardman. He could also soak up targets if teams opt to double-team Travis Kelce. You could find a similar fit in Baltimore, where Robinson would slot in nicely beside Hollywood Brown and Mark Andrews.

Or maybe in true NBA fashion, Robinson could get on a text thread with Deshaun Watson and the pair can demand to be traded to the same team? The New York Jets could certainly use a new QB and WR, and they have plenty of draft capital to make something crazy like this happen.

Best of all, Robinson would be next to his new favorite NBA super team.
