MLB Power Rankings 2021: Standings at end of April originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
We've reached the end of the first month of the 2021 MLB season and have learned at least one thing as we enter May.
California's baseball teams reign supreme.
Through three weeks, the Dodgers, Giants and Padres rank 1-2-3 in wins in the National League. In the American League, the A's are pacing the field after a 13-game winning streak.
And although the Angels have cooled off of late, they've played some decent baseball and sit at .500.
The Dodgers and Padres entered the season as pennant favorites in the NL and have delivered postseason-quality baseball in two series. San Diego holds the early edge, taking four of the first seven matchups.
If the Giants keep pitching as well as they have, the NL West promises to be exciting all summer long.
Here's how all 30 teams stack up as we enter May.
