Ryan Pace Addresses Mitch Trubisky's Future With Chicago Bears

Pace on Trubisky's future: 'Everything's on the table' originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Now that we know Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace will continue to lead the Bears in 2021, the biggest question surrounding the team moves to the biggest position. It’s the same question fans have asked themselves, over and over again. What are the Bears going to do at quarterback?

With Nick Foles still under contract for two more years (with a potential out after 2021 according to Spotrac), he’s more than likely returning in at least a backup capacity. But what about Mitchell Trubisky?

“Everything’s on the table, now,” Pace said when asked about the future of the former No. 2 overall pick. Pace didn’t say much more, other than the Bears would need to finish up player evaluations before making any final decisions. Those comments came in stark contrast to the praise Pace had for Foles. Pace commended Foles for being a leader on the team, as a starter and a backup.

That being said, Pace admitted quarterback was a problem area for the team, and it would need to be addressed before the 2021 season.

“We definitely need more out of the position,” Pace said. “We know that. What does that entail? That’s what this whole offseason is about.”
