Theo Epstein's Future: Live in Chicago, Become Cubs Season Ticket Holder

Theo's post-Cubs plans include Chicago, Wrigley's bleachers originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Theo Epstein may no longer be Cubs president, but he indicated his future plans will involve Chicago.

Epstein announced his resignation as team president on Tuesday, ending a nine-year run on the North Side. Nevertheless, there's a chance Cubs fans will see him around town going forward.

"Our plans are to continue to live in Chicago for the near term and potentially for long term," Epstein said of his family. "We love it here. It’s home now, for our family."

Epstein lives in walking distance of Wrigley Field and as someone who's worked in baseball as long as he has, you know he'll make his way to the Friendly Confines at some point. In his opening statement during a Tuesday press conference thanking the Ricketts family, Epstein mentioned he's "very likely" to become a Cubs season ticket holder.

Seats out above Wrigley's ivy-colored walls would be a fine choice, a la where he, Jed Hoyer and Jason McLeod sat near the end of the 2016 regular season (when fans can safely attend games, of course).

"Now that I won’t be affiliated with the Cubs, I can truly enjoy the full bleacher bum experience," Epstein said.

We look forward to seeing you help create a cup snake in the bleachers, Theo.
