Sox release 2022 schedule, featuring games with NL West foes originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
While the Chicago White Sox full focus is on the remainder of the 2021 season — and postseason — Major League Baseball is already planning for the future.
The South Siders' schedule for the 2022 regular season is out, released Wednesday alongside next year's slates for the other 29 teams in the baseball.
The White Sox open the 2022 campaign at home against the Minnesota Twins, a three-game weekend set with the division rivals starting Thursday, March 31, at Guaranteed Rate Field.

As for 2022's National League opponents, the White Sox are set for just four games against the Crosstown-rival Cubs, all of them coming in May. The White Sox will go head-to-head with all five NL West teams, playing hosts to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies and traveling to take on the Rockies, San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres.
That three-game series against the Padres in Southern California will close out the regular-season schedule from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.
The month of June seems to set up as a particularly challenging one, with the White Sox playing series against the Dodgers, Toronto Blue Jays, Tampa Bay Rays, Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels.
