Details of the Chicago Bears Monday night outing to Angels & Kings, the Chicago nightclub owned by Pete Wentz are sketchy at best.
But when asked about the incident, the players who were allegedly barred from entering the club denied it was racially motivated. Brian Urlacher is reportedly upset at the accusation.
"It was a miscommunication," said Defensive End Israel Idonije. Izzy said he talked to the "great guys" at Angels & Kings about the incident and has never had a problem before. When asked if it was racially motivated he said: "No, absolutely not."
Running Back Garrett Wolfe said that's the breaks at clubs sometimes, especially Angels & Kings. He, Jay Cutler and Chester Taylor went to the same spot the Monday before, Wolfe said, and were turned away because of a private party.
"I just want them to be consistent," Wolfe said.
The only player who seemed to be selling the racial angle was Lance Briggs.
“I’m not too sure about all of that, so I can only speculate on what happened there," Briggs said." But it sounded along those lines. It sounded along those lines that maybe the crowd was too dark.
"I wasn't there at the front door. That's just heresay from me. I do know we didn't get in. I know that it's a place I've been before and for whatever reason 25 Chicago Bears didn't get in."
