The citations Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill received following a traffic stop outside Hard Rock Stadium in September that saw him pulled out of his car and handcuffed have been dismissed.
Hill had been cited for careless driving and failing to wear a seatbelt during the Sept. 8 encounter, but records obtained Tuesday showed the citations were dismissed.
Adam Goodman, an attorney representing Hill, said the dismissal came after the officers involved in the case didn't attend a hearing.
In a statement, Miami-Dade Police said the officer's failure to appear in court was "an oversight."
"The Miami-Dade Police Department is aware that a docket of citations issued to multiple individuals including the non-criminal citations issued to Mr. Tyreek Hill have been dismissed because the officer did not attend the hearing," the department's statement read. "A citation dismissed due to this reason does not indicate that the citation held no merit. An internal review as to why the officer did not appear in court has revealed an oversight on his behalf. This matter will be handled administratively.”
"Where all the internet cops now," Hill posted on X Tuesday morning in response to a post about the citations being dismissed.

Body camera video that has since gone viral on social media captured the tough police take down as Hill was pulled out of his car, handcuffed and detained over allegations of careless driving just hours before the Dolphins' season opener against Jacksonville.
A 27-year veteran of the department who was involved in the incident, Officer Danny Torres, was later placed on administrative duty. Hill has called for him to be fired.

Hill's teammate, defensive lineman Calais Campbell, tried to intervene on Hill's behalf the day of the incident but also ended up in handcuffs before he was released without facing any charges.
"Going back to that, that was just a crazy moment, really uncalled for," Campbell said Tuesday. "I think it helped bring us closer together, at the end of the day, trying to build those bonds as a brotherhood, and Tyreek is a captain, star player, great guy, and we all try to have teammates’ backs."
Another teammate who tried to help Hill during the incident, tight end Jonnu Smith, said he was relieved to hear the citations had been dismissed.
"I did what anybody here would do, as teammates, or a friend or family whatever it may have been, but it also put a lot of perspective for me because you never know what people are going through, like it could’ve been a random person and they may not have that luxury of playing for the Dolphins, you know what I mean?" Smith said. "And that’s the light we gotta continue to spread, everybody deserves the same amount of justice, everybody deserves the same treatment, no matter who you play for, what school, work, everybody should be treated the same."
